Sport is any form of physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and entertainment to participants. Sports may be competitive, in which the winner or winners can be identified with an objective way, and may require a level of skill, especially at higher levels. There are hundreds of sports, including those for a single participant, through people with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or compete as individuals. Some non-physical activities, such as Board games and card games are sometimes referred to as a sport, but the sport is recognized as being based on physically athletic.
The sport is usually governed by a set of rules or customs. The physical events such as scoring or cross the line first often determine the outcome of the sport. However, the level of skill and performance in several sports such as diving, dressage and figure skating is judged according to well-defined criteria. This is in contrast with other judged activities such as beauty and body building contest, where skills need not be shown and the criteria are not as well defined.

Sports that are most commonly played for fun or for the simple fact that people need exercise to stay in good physical condition. However, professional sports are a major source of entertainment.
